David and I went to the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce’s event “Don’t Cook Tuesdays” yesterday. The event was the kick-off for the effort to bring further attention and prosperity to San Marcos restaurants. Every Tuesday, San Marcos residents are encouraged to patronize one of our many fine eateries – so put away the pots and pans, grab the family and head out for a delicious meal-on-the-town! Some of the restaurants participating were: Chick-fil-A, 55 Yard Line, Bruno’s Authentic Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria, Chin’s Szechwan, Old California Mining Co., Back Alley Grill, The San Marcos Brewery, Cocina Del Charro, Elephant Bar, Market St. Cafe & French Bakery and The Old Spaghetti Factory.
We had a great time listening to the San Elijo Middle School’s Jazz Band, watching some impromptu dancing (see video), and meeting with the members and ambassadors of the San Marcos Chamber.
Dave got to sample his heart out and although there wasn’t much vegan fare for me, many of the restaurant representatives said that they were always happy to make dietary or allergenic modifications to meals.
